Unemployment is a main problem for Tunisia. Unemployment rate in Kebili province is 20% which is higher than the national average of 18.1% (year 2012). Agricultural and livestock management are the most important sector contributing to employ people in this province. 142 green houses have been badly affected by a strong storm in April 2013. 76 farmers are jobless now. Farmers need support to renovate the green house structures. Islamic Relief will provide 815 plastic covers and rehabilitate 11 green house structures through this project. Project will also provide seeds and fertilizers to start the production again. There are many needy families in Faouar district. These families have no permanent income. Some are women headed families with 5-6 members. Boys and girls are unemployed. They have no skills to have job. IRW will provide some inputs with technical support to some vulnerable families to start income generation activities. Project has also planned to provide vocational trainings with tool kits to youth for self employment. In total 130 families will be benefited from these interventions. Project will start from 1st February 2014 and will be finished by 31st January 2015. Total budget for this project is USD 327,000.
