Descriptif
The intervention is formed based on priorities identified during needs assessments and coordination with other actors on the ground. Food : With START funding, access to food for 45 days coordinated with/complementing IR food assistance for 15 days will be secured for all displaced HHs in Bambara Maoude (1155). Discussions are ongoing with the WFP to ascertain if they are able to fulfil food needs of IDPs, however initial discussions highlight that this is unlikely for the next two months and partners have been requested to explore if they are able to immediately respond. The intervention will provide cash vouchers of value 63,000 XOF to meet 45 days food requirement of each HH in line with WFP standards (7000xof/person/month). IR Mali will conduct rapid consultation with IDP HHs to identify preferred food items and will engage with pre-identified suppliers within the areas to fix prices for these. Shelter : 483 IDP HHs in Inadiatafane will be provided with cash vouchers of value 30,000 XOF each to purchase emergency, temporary shelter items desired. Value is based on market prices and cost experiences of other partners such as NRC. IR Mali will conduct rapid consultation with IDP HHs to identify preferredÿ items and will engage with pre-identified suppliers within the areas to fix prices for these. As identified in the needs assessment, shelter needs are critical within the target area. IECs : IR Mali will undertake protection and safeguarding awareness sessions in both communes in order to increase awareness of protection issues particularly with regards to women, children, older persons and persons with disability. The current living circumstances and deteriorated coping capacities of families, elevates protection risks and concerns. IEC sessions will also address COVID-19 risks and prevention measures.ÿÿ IR has extensive experience in utilising this implementation methodology within both Bambara Maoude and Inadiatafane in partnership with the WFP, having presence in both communes since 1998. IR Mali continues to maintain access to Bambara Maoude despite the insecurity prevailing within the area and has a high level of acceptance within the host community and already present IDPs in the area.
