Following the population displacement alert, IR Mali conducted a need assessment in early February 2019. Different methods of data collection were used, combining household interviews, separate focus groups for men and women, key informant interviews and observation. The target population of the project is 612 IDPs including men, women, girls and boys. Pregnant women, breastfeeding women, the elderly and people with disabilities are also included. They come from 8 villages of Kita Circle but mostly from the village of Sakoura, bilissibougou and are divided among 21 large families. They are located in the village of Manbiri, Souranzan commune. The priority needs as reported by the IDPs during the needs assessment include : NFIs including mats, blankets, mosquito nets, building equipment to utilise the donated land and food.The activities of this intervention are : (1) distribution of food items - sufficient food for the needs of 612 people for two months (composed are according to WFP standards) (2) Distribution of WASH kits including soap and jerricans (2 bars of soap per individual sufficient for two months, 220 Jerrycans distributed proportionately for water transportation) (3) provision of 175 mats, (4) Training & sensitisation on CP & GBV to community and faith leaders and amongst the community at large from a faith based perspective
