Descriptif
Overall objective of the project is to provide urgent humanitarian assistance to 6000 households (IDPs and host communities) in targeted districts of Alzuhra and Alzaidya in Hodeida and in Tuban district in Lahj. The Food Security component will target 2,250 severely food insecure HHs (around 1800 IDP-HHs & 450 host community HHs) in both governorates by providing them with two cycles of food baskets based on SPHERE standards. The Livelihood component will give 250 female headed HHs (with a priority given to GBV survivors) a chance to start small businesses. The businesses will be based on the women’s ideas and can be anything from small shops, cheese or bread production to agricultural production, animal breeding or handicrafts. The WASH intervention will target 2700 HHs involving construction of emergency sanitation, maintenance of emergency latrines and hand washing, delivery of hygiene promotion sessions, distribution of hygiene kits, establishment of WASH committees with female members in each committee, distribution of purifiers/ ceramic filters, installation of 4 water tanks and provision of drinking water through water trucking facility. The rehabilitation of three non-functioning water sources and small water networks will be done by mobilizing vulnerable people from the targeted areas under the activity of Cash For Work (CFW). The project will seek to be inclusive and conflict sensitive to ensure meaningful access, participation, safety and dignity and accountability to people of all ages and abilities. We will integrate the marker tool system developed by Islamic Relief Worldwide’s Programme Quality Department (the subject of submitted concept note ‘Inclusive & Sensitive Programming within Humanitarian Assistance (I&SP)’) within our activities.
