Descriptif
This is a WASH/Health integrated project, which will complement some of the on-going nutrition/WASH and cholera response projects in the same locations/health facilities whose goal is to contribute to a reduction in morbidity and mortality associated with acute malnutrition among children 6-59 months of age, as well as pregnant and lactating women. Moreover, due to the current Cholera/Acute Watery Diarrheal outbreak in Yemen, the WASH interventions aim at case management of the confirmed cases at identified health facilities, as well as preventing the further spread of the outbreak. Key deliverables will comprise of provision of appropriate cholera medicines, hygiene kits, jerry cans, chlorination of water sources and provision of IEC material. The project targets approximately 500 cases of acute watery diarrhoea (AWD) in the targeted Diarrheal treatment centres (DTCs) and targeted health facilities in Abyan, Amran and Saada Governorates. The project will also provide additional primary and secondary health medicines and medical supplies in the targeted health facilities in Abyan, Amran and Saada where we have on-going nutrition interventions – Community Based Management of Acute Malnutrition (CMAM) - in order to have a comprehensive case management of malnourished cases.
