Présentation
The countries of the Sahel are some of the most exposed to crises and disasters, and thousands of people from the Sahel region migrate across Africa and/or towards Europe each year in search
for a better life. This is a consequence of several destabilising factors : fragile states, widespread violence, limited resources and livelihood prospects, and increasingly severe climate shocks. Along their journey, migrants are confronted with numerous dangers including protection risks, exploitation and limited access to basic services and most often find themselves in a distressed state of mind.Â
BRC is committed to helping migrants and have done so through the AMIRA programme that provides humanitarian assistance to vulnerable migrants along the migratory trails. As the programme ends in March 2021, BRC is looking into other options to continue support to migrants through smaller, targeted projects, as well as through support to migration research and coordination efforts
