Présentation
In this project, a solar-powered water tower and well along with solar driers for agricultural products will be built for the women’s farming fields (maraichage) of the central villages of the Sanankoroba and Dialakoroba municipalities in Mali. Women’s village associations will be supported in the upgrading of the farming fields and given seeds for cultivation. 25 women will be trained for the maintenance and use of the solar installations and water systems. Another 25 people will be trained to participate in advocacy work to integrate renewable energy (solar and wind) in the local and regional development plans (Programmes de developpement economique social et culturel - PDESC). Direct beneficiaries include around 300 women and girls, who use the gardening fields. The aim is to strengthen sustainable income opportunities of women and their families and reduce women ?s involvement in the unsustainable fuelwood trade. Information and advocacy work enhances the implementation of the sustainable municipal planning and the awareness of renewable energy.

Mise en euvre  : The project implementor is the Malian NGO Association Malienne pour la conservation de la faune et l’environnement (AMCFE).

Financement : Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland
