Strengthening employment promotion structure in Tunisia

Titre : Strengthening employment promotion structure in Tunisia

Pays/Région : Tunisie

Durée : 2019-04-01 to 2021-01-31

The high unemployment rate and underemployment, particularly in the interior regions of Tunisia, are coupled with a severe shortage of adequately trained workers. Only few young people in rural areas had the opportunity to benefit from qualification services and efficient employment services.

This situation has put the Tunisian government under strong pressure to offer employment opportunities to the many un- and underemployed young and adult people likewise, especially in the interior regions of the country.

Close cooperation between all actors concerned by the employment issue (civil society, social partners, public institutions, and private sector) and the establishment of relevant dialogue processes between stakeholders are of crucial importance in the context of employment promotion. Regional approaches offer potential and play a key role in trying to meet the needs of job seekers.

In response to this observation, the project "Promotion of Employment in Rural Regions" (PERR) aims to increase the number of people benefiting from qualification and employment services in the selected rural areas.
