Feasibility study for a spirulina production project in central Senegal

Senegal

Titre : Feasibility study for a spirulina production project in central Senegal

Pays/Région : Senegal

Durée : 2020-07-01 to 2020-12-31

Présentation
Senegal, together with its international partners, is looking for new value chains which, if developed and sustained, can benefit the rural population in terms of nutrition, income and employment. Senegal’s climate is characterized by high levels of sunshine and intensive radiation. Com-bined with the abundance of land that cannot be cultivated due to its excessive salt content, this climatic condition makes it a promising location for the production of micro-algae.

The objective of the Feasibility Study is to determine under which conditions the large-scale production of spirulina in Senegal can be competitive on the international market. It will therefore have to establish whether Senegal’s climatic conditions make it possible to achieve a balance between yields and production costs that makes it possible to compete with large producers on the world market.

Services provided include, but are not limited to : * Analysis of supply, demand and regulatory standards * Technical study of the implementation and development of production models * Drawing up business plans based on the three predefined unit models
