Présentation
Delta Tuban is located on the Tuban wadi that carries flood water from the mountains towards the Sea in Aden. Wadi Tubn has two branches which are Wadi Sgheer (minor) and Wadi Kabeer (major). Ubr Lehasan is located on the Minor branch and convey water towards 285 ha. of agricultural land benefiting 220 farming families with 1100 inhabitants (560 females and 540 males). The project will enable project to renovate the canal entrance to ensure flood flow through sufficiently to reach the target agriculture land. Since flood occurs only during summer, it was estimated that only 140ha of land are cultivated under flood irrigation for one season e.g. 150days. The project will add value to agriculture and environment through enhancing soil fertility, Salinity washout, enhance land minerals’ profile and subsidize grand water level. The project will save the environment 1369 tins of CO2 a year. Further, it saves on the budget of farming families of US$ 729/family/year.
