Présentation
With CERF funding, WHO and UNICEF are ensuring support to health facilities across the country between November 2021 and January 2022, thereby helping to avert the collapse of Afghanistan’s health system. This project sustains the delivery of primary and secondary health services, through the existing framework of the Sehatmandi project, as an emergency measure to avoid large-scale preventable morbidities and mortalities. With this funding, WHO and UNICEF support a combined 2,168 facilities across 31 provinces between November 2021 and January 2022. UNICEF and WHO also national and regional structures to supervise and monitor the project implementation and engage external third-party monitoring teams to ensure accountability. UNICEF supports 1,038 Sehatmandi health facilities in 15 provinces (Badakhshan, Badghis, Ghazni, Ghor, Heart, Kandahar, Khost, Kunduz, Paktika, Zabul, Helmand, Nimroz, Paktya, Urozgan and Farah)
