Since entering the 21 st century,the No.1 document of the CPC Central Committee and the Autonomous Region Party committee has focused on the work of "agriculture and animal husbandry" for 18 consecutive years.This fully reflects the party committees at all levels attach great importance to the work of "agriculture and animal husbandry" and the ardent care of farmers.The main content of this thesis is to explore whether drip irrigation can be used in arid areas,so as to save plenty of Irrigation water and rural labor,increase crop yield and planting benefits,and achieve the goal of helping farmers become rich and well-off.The paper is proved by a series of analyses,selects Jiuyuan District of Baotou as a representative of a typical arid region.On the one hand,it discusses the technical rationality of implementting the drip irrigation projects in this area,on the other hand,conducts quantitative and qualitative analysis of the benefits of implementting drip irrigation projects in this area,and finally draws the results of the demonstration.The argumentation process is divided into four parts : First,Through the methods of list access to information,field surveys,proves that choosing Jiuyuan District of Baotou as a representative of arid area is rational.Second,it is determined the important parameters which is required in the process of design and calculation like effective precipitation,increment of ground water and soil water storage by consulting data analyzing and comparing local historical data,etc ;Third,according to the actual situation of existing wells in Jiuyuan District of Baotou,it selects three cases of single well water output to do research and analysis to prove the technical rationality of the drip irrigation project ;Fourth,through cash flow calculation(Annual net cash flow of1.927 million yuan),national economic evaluation and analysis of the impact of the project on environmental protection and water and soil conservation,it proves that the implementation of the drip irrigation project is rational in the aspect of economy.The paper finally concludes that the implementation of drip irrigation project in arid areas can effectively promote agricultural development,which is an effective way to save water resources,increase the income of farmers and herdsmen,and promote the healthy development of agricultural and pastoral areas.It is recommended that the country and community should increase support for water-saving irrigation projects in arid areas,at the same time,put forward the prospect for the next step in the exploration of irrigation method by "water and fertilizer integration" which combines drip irrigation with fertilization.
