At present,most studies of evaluating the ecological effect of gully erosion control focus on the filed investigation of sediment interception and vegetation cover.Little attention has been paid to the research on the change process of vegetation and soil restoration in erosion gully.The researches on optimizing characterization indicators from remote sensing retrieval for ecological effect assessment of erosion gully restoration are even less.Therefore,based on remote sensing retrieval,field investigation,cloud platform and computer language data processing technology,this paper explored a new framework for ecological effect evaluation of erosion gully restoration,and took Tazishan catchment in Fumeng County,Northwest Liaoning Province as the study area to verify the feasibility of this ecological effect evaluation framework.It is expected to provide reference and guidance for the ecological effect evaluation of erosion gully restoration in Northwest Liaoning and similar areas.The main conclusions are as follows :(1)A working framework for ecological effect evaluation of erosion gully restoration was constructed.Based on remote sensing image of NASA Landsat-5 and Landsat-8,the vegetation index and vegetation water index before and after the implementation of erosion gully control measures were calculated by Google Earth Engine.Then the evaluation methods were need to construct for the follow-up analysis and the Python was used to do data processing,analysis and visualization.Then,researching the influence of soil and water conservation measures,such as shelterbelt and check dam on erosion gully.Next,the feasibility of using medium resolution remote sensing image to assess rehabilitation process in remote erosion gully areas was verified by vegetation coverage and soil moisture content,and select the best index for monitoring on erosion gully.
