In this study,a total of 13 species,including 4 timber tree species,4 microphanerophytes of economic forest and 5 megaphanerophytes of economic forest were selected.Two-year-old seedlings were used as materials to conduct drought stress test in solar greenhouse by pot experiment.The damage symptoms,growth parameters,photosynthetic gas exchange parameters,chlorophyll fluorescence characteristics and other indicators of each tree species under different drought stress time were observed.The fuzzy membership function method and PCA were used to comprehensively evaluate the drought resistance differences of the three types of tree species,which provided a theoretical basis for evaluation of suitable tree species in arid and barren mountainous areas of Shandong Province.The main research results are as following:1.After three rounds of continuous drought-rehydration experiments,the temporary wilting coefficient of each tree species was determined,and the drought resistance of each tree species was ranked according to this index.Drought resistance of timber tree species:Catalpa bungei C.A.Mey.> Ulmus pumila L.> Eucommia ulmoides Oliver > Toona sinensis(A.Juss.)Roem..Drought resistance of microphanerophytes of economic forest : Punica granatum Linn.Sp.Pl.> Piperis Dahongpao > Ficus carica Linn.> Xanthoceras sorbifolium Bunge.Drought resistance of megaphanerophytes of economic forest : Ziziphus jujuba Mill.>Juglans regia L.> Diospyros kaki Thunb.> Pistacia chinensis Bunge > Armeniaca vulgaris Lam..2.Leaf morphology of tree species changed differently after drought stress.The drought tolerance of the plants was evaluated according to the symptoms of damage to the leaves of the plants.Drought tolerance effect of timber tree species : Catalpa bungei C.A.Mey.>Eucommia ulmoides Oliver > Toona sinensis(A.Juss.)Roem.> Ulmus pumila L..Drought tolerance effect microphanerophytes of economic forest : Punica granatum Linn.Sp.Pl.>Piperis Dahongpao > Xanthoceras sorbifolium Bunge > Ficus carica Linn..Drought tolerance effect megaphanerophytes of economic forest : Ziziphus jujuba Mill.> Juglans regia L.> Diospyros kaki Thunb.> Armeniaca vulgaris Lam.> Pistacia chinensis Bunge.3.The LMA of tree species decreased after drought stress.LMA was used as the evaluation index to evaluate the drought resistance of each tree species.The strongest drought resistance of timber tree species,microphanerophytes of economic forest and megaphanerophytes of economic forest was Catalpa bungei C.A.Mey.,Punica granatum Linn.Sp.Pl.And Ziziphus jujuba Mill.respectivly.The biomass and root-shoot ratio of tree species decreased after drought stress.Two indices were used to evaluate the drought resistance of tree species.Among timber tree species,Catalpa bungei C.A.Mey.had the strongest drought resistance.Among Species of fruit trees,Ficus carica Linn.and Armeniaca vulgaris Lam.had the worst drought resistance.Drought stress had the greatest impact on leaves of timber species and microphanerophytes of economic forest,followed by stems and roots,and had the greatest impact on roots of megaphanerophytes of economic forest,followed by stems and leaves.4.The content of MDA in membrane lipid peroxide of tree species increased after drought stress
