Résumé
Small mammals (Didelphimorphia and Rodentia) constitute the most diversified ecological group among the mammals of Brazil, and their abundance, distribution and diversity are closely related with spatio-temporal variations of climate and resources availability. The Caatinga is a neotropical semiarid ecosystem exclusively from Brazil, characterized by high temperatures and a seasonal and irregular rainfall regime. However, there is a lack of information on the effect that hydric deficit and resources seasonality pose on the composition, structure, and dynamics of small mammal communities in this biome. The present study is divided into two chapters : the first chapter, presents data on population densities ; and temporal patterns in relation to seasonality. And the second chapter presents apparent survival and recruitment data for Gracilinanus agilis ; and assessed whether they differ between sex and reproductive status, and whether they are dependent on the effect of rain. Methods of capture-mark-recapture will be applied using 115 live traps (Sherman and Tomahawk models) on ground and trees, along five years and nine successive months between June 2014 to February 2020. The study area is an 8,25-ha patch of native forest in the Caatinga, located in the Estação Experimental of the Universidade Federal Rural do SemiÁrido, Mossoró-RN
