Résumé
Improving wheat genotypes in terms of drought tolerance increases the yield in dry conditions as well as it is important in the selection of genotypes that can be used as parents in breeding programs. This research was carried out in Ataturk University Plant Production Application and Research Center, experimental station number 4. In this study, as a result of mutagen application, 37 EMS and 39 NaN3 advanced wheat mutant candidate line was used ; the yield and drought parameters were evaluated under semi-arid conditions. Significant differences among the mutant candidate lines was determined based on inspected selection criteria. The vegetative period of the mutant lines was ranged between (MH) 15,7 – 21,8 days ; grain filling period 26,3 – 31,7 days ; plant height 81,0 – 107,6 cm ; number of spiks per square meter 104,3 – 1358,7 ; number of grains spike 4,8 – 28,8 ; 1000 grain weight 32,5 – 42,3 g ; biological yield 198,4 to 2887,5 kg/da ; grain yield 22,7 – 670,6 kg/da ; harvest index 8,9 and 31,2% ; temperature differences of the canopy 8,40 – 14,48°C ; leaf chlorophyll content 33,8 – 52,4 units ; F0 134,0 – 418,7 ; Fm 144,0-1203,0 ; Fv 256,4 – 1549,0 ; and Fv/Fm was varied between 0,2594 – 0,7820. In addition to the grain yield, high number of spikes per square meter of line E21 from EMS applicaiton and line N149 from NaN3 applicaiton can be used as a parent in breeding programs under semi-arid conditions in terms of drought tolerance.
