Résumé
The research was planned and carried out in order to determine the effects of different planting times and plant densities on yield and yield components of second crop sesame (Sesamum indicum L.) under semi-arid climate conditions in Harran Plain at the Talat Demirören Research Station, which affiliated to GAP Agricultural Research Institute in Şanlıurfa province in 2015 and 2016 years. Arslanbey sesame variety which was bred for GAP Region used and the trial was carried out according to randomized blocks split split plots experimental design with 3 replications. In the trial, the main parcels were consisted of planting times (1 June, 15 June and 1 July), sub-parcels were divided into 2 different inter-row spaces (35 and 70 cm), and sub-sub plots were divided into 4 different intra-row spaces (5, 10, 15 and 20 cm). According to the results of two years of studies ; although sowing time x inter-row x intra-row interaction were found statistically to be effective on the plant height, number of capsules per plant, number of seeds per capsule, oil ratio, oil yield and seed yield, and were not found to be statistically effective on the number branches per plant, first capsule height, 1000 seed weight and protein ratio in 2015. Sowing time x inter-row x intra-row interactions were found statistically to be effective on the plant height, number of capsules per plant, number of seeds per capsule, number of branches per plant, first capsule height, 1000 seed weight, seed yield, protein ratio, oil ratio and oil yield in 2016. During the first and second years of the trial (2015 and 2016) ; the maximum number of days of flowering and number of days of physiological maturation were determined on June 1, as 37 and 42 days ; 117 and 115 days respectively. According to the results of two years, the highest seed yield was obtained from the 35x5 cm plant density on June 15 with 143.42 kg da-1, and the lowest seed yield was obtained from the 70x20 cm plant density on July 1 with 72.50 kg da-1. It has been determined that the best planting time for middle branched Arslanbey sesame cultivation as second crop in Harran Plain which is located in the semi-arid climatic conditions is between the dates of 1-15 June, and the plant densities are 35x5 and 35x10 cm.
