Résumé
Municipal wastewater reclamation and reuse provides an effective way to solve water resource problems in arid and semi-arid regions. Reclaimed water is major reuse for irrigation. Konya municipal wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) has a capacity of 200.000 m3/day in 2010, was put into operation. Reuse of Konya WWTP effluents was intended for irrigation of urban green areas (landscaping area, etc.) after the advanced treatment. Reuse of treatment wastewater is possible with tertiary treatment system. Tertiary treatment systems : Multi-layer sand filter (MMF), microfiltration (MF), ultrafiltration (UF), nanofiltration (NF) and reverse osmosis (RO) are used. A pilot advanced treatment plant with a capacity of 2 m3/h has been established in Konya WWTP. The pilot plant has the following types operation : Multimedia Filtration (MMF), Microfiltration (MF), Ultrafiltration (UF). Chlorine and UV disinfection systems are also pre-chlorination, final-chlorination and UV disinfection alternatives were applied. Irrigation water for the technically and economically most suitable system has been tried to be elected. Using a pilot plant operating data, advanced treatment plant was constructed with a capacity of 3.600 m3/day by Konya Water and Sewerage Administration (KOSKI) for reuse of wastewater. In the first stage, 24 km reclaimed water distribution system (purple pipe network) was built for irrigation of restricted urban landscapes. The reclaimed water distribution system is the first application in Turkey. In this thesis, pilot plant and the advanced treatment plant operating results was discussed. According to Turkey’s guidelines for water reuse, fecal coliform, turbidity, BOI5 and residual chlorine were monitored in pilot and full scale plant.
