Résumé
Water is one of the most important and indispensable resources fort he maintenance
of life. The humankind needs water directly or indirectly for his survival.
For the plants in parks and gardens, natural precipitation is the primary source for
supplying water that has to exist in the ground during the growing season for their normal
development. However in arid and semi-arid climate zones, the precipitation that falls
during plant growth season remains inadequate in terms of both amount and distribution,
thus it is not possible to meet the normal need of plants for water in this way. For this
reason, irrigation carries a great importance for the growth and care of plants in
landscaping. Then, irrigation becomes necessary when the need for water cannot be met
through natural precipitation. The purpose of irrigation and irrigation methods is to give
back water that the plant has lost through perspiration and the vaporization of the ground
water.
In this study, primarily, information has been given about equipment and systems
used for irrigation and pressure irrigation methods and their planning has been examined in
detail.
In the research the by using Pennmann-Monteith Method which is a method based
on climatic elements, the water consumption, need for irrigation water, interval of
irrigation and duration of irrigation have been found for the grass plant in park areas
located in three different climate zones (Antalya, Ankara and Trabzon) in our country
