Résumé
This research was carried out on three years old olive (cv Ayvalık) trees grown in pots at field condition in Bornova Olive Research Station, Ministry of Food Agriculture and Livestock in 2012. Response to water stress of cv Ayvalık was investigated with temporal changing of CWSI. Also relation between CWSI and stoma activity was determined. In this experiment 3 different irrigation treatments consist of : I100 of (100% of ETa) , 2) I66 (66% of ETa), 3) I33 of (33% of ETa), were applied Some physiologic parameters of crops such as, stomatal conductance (gs), leaf temperature, air temperature difference (Tl-Ta) and also morphologic parameters of the trunk diameter, plant height, shoot diameter, shoot length were determined. In this experiment, irrigation water requirements were ranged between 40.7 to 123.3 liters/pot and actual evapotranspirations were ranged between 48,2 to 129liters/plant. Difference in morphologic parameters leaf-air temperature differences, stomatal conductance values were found statistically significant among treatmentsts. Crop water stress index (CWSI) was calculated from lower and upper equations that were optained from vapor pressure deficit, leaf and air temparatures measurements. Averages CWSI values were 0.09, 0.30 and 0.48 for I100. I66 and I33 respectively. The relations between CWSI and stomatal conductance were found statistically significant. The values were R2=0.577 for I100, R2=0.59 for I66 R2=0.41 for I33. Leaf temperature, stomatal conductance measurements and CWSI can be used to determine the water stress level of olive trees. Also, for growing in arid or water scarce areas, cv Ayvalık can be recommended as a drought tolerant olive cultivar.
