Résumé
The application of the Geographical Information System (Cbs) methodology to the physical geography of Karadağ (Karaman) and its immediate vicinity is basically between borders 33o01’12 "- 33o34’08" East Longitudes and 37o25’29 "- 37o59’58" northern latitudes. The study reveals the physical geographical features and differences of the places within these boundaries. Although Karadağ is named as a single name, it consists of many small hills and somewhere between the hills, more or less deep valleys. On Karadağ ; geological, geomorphological, climate, hydrography, soil and vegetation cover in terms of physical geography features quite different. In our study area we see almost all the time spots from Paleozoic (Time I) to Quaternary (Time IV). The Neogene-Quaternary older Karadağ volcanics, which cut out sedimentary units which are usually spread over the wide plains, are located in our study area. Karadağ volcanic activity has developed in four phases, and these volcanics are generally andesitic and dacitic. The youngest formations of our study area ; In the colloquial areas around Karadağ, quaternary slope rubble and alluvium are formed, which occupy a large part of the slopes and where the height decreases. Karadağ has been cut with many fault systems and these faults have mainly formed the causes of volcanism. Volcanic rocks are found in the volcanic domes and a large caldera in the central part. Although there is no continuous stream on Karadağ, valley systems have been formed by many seasonal transient streams and wear is continuing. Karadağ has climatic differences within arid regions in the southernmost of Central Anatolia. The oak forests around it are rich in lowland and high mountain steeps and bush formations, plant species and diversity, and endemic species.
