The study aimed to analyze and estimate the impact of agricultural finance on agricultural production of the main food crops (wheat, sorghum and Mellit) in Sudan ; three variables were used namely ; agricultural government finance (AGIGF), agricultural bank finance (AGBF) and cultivated area (ARIA) as explanatory variables, while total agricultural production (TOTAL) was used as a dependent variable. The importance of this study stems from the important of agricultural sector and the role played in economic growth and development in Sudan The Auto-Regressive Distributed Lag (ARDL) approach to co-integration is used for estimation purposes, using data over the period (1987-2018), which were obtained from the Central Bank of Sudan (CBoS) and Federal Ministry of Agriculture (MOA).The empirical results reveal that the effect of agricultural finance is statistically significant on the main food crops in Sudan, specifically ; the findings reveal that agricultural bank finance, government finance and cultivated area have positive and significant long-run impacts on food crops in Sudan. at 1% rise in agricultural bank finance (AGBF), agricultural government finance and cultivated area will lead to, approximately an increase by 0.65%, 0.26% and 1.50%, respectively, in the total agricultural product. In the short-run, the cultivated aria (ARIA) has negative effect on food crops while AGIG and AGBF) have positive impacts on the total agricultural product of the main food crops ; an increase in agricultural government finance (AGIGF) by1%will lead to an increase in the total agricultural product by (0.27%), also an increase in (AGBF) by 1% leads an increase in total agricultural product by 0.59%. The study concludes with some recommendations including : the government should subsidize production of the strategic crops to maintain an acceptable amount of agricultural production ; adoption of new technologies in the agricultural sector to increase production especially, wheat production and improve the quality of production ; government policies towards the agricultural sector should give due consideration to issue of finance through : prioritizing finance to the agricultural sector through raising the percentage of finance allocated to the sector and according special credit concessions to the sector, such as lower rates of return on finance
