Résumé
The aim of this research is to improve understanding of informal apprenticeship system and stimulate efforts to realize more of their potentials to boost employability, income opportunities and decent work for many young people in study area. It also aims to understand the current practices of informal apprenticeship in order to identify possible ways and means of improving the existing situation for the business and apprentices involved. Another aim is to help East Darfur State to develop a better understanding of general practices in informal apprenticeship to allocate their resources. The researcher used the descriptive, analytical and exploratory approach ; the field study procedures are collecting a necessary data on the phenomenon under study. The researcher relied on the questionnaire as a main tool for collecting data, and individual interviews as a secondary tool from the study sample, in addition to secondary data from research, such as books, researcher observations and etc. The final results of the study is that : the potentials of informal apprenticeship are weak interim of the quality and quantity of the equipment and machines used, the craft men’s skills, the marketing products …etc. in the study area, which confirms that it’s traditional and lack of development. The informal apprenticeship system provides job opportunities for traditional craftsmen (p= 0.001 < 0.05), if it is developed and taken care by the relevant authorities. The lack of necessary support for the traditional apprenticeship system had an impact on the development of craft work in the study area (p= 0.001 < 0.05). The informal apprenticeship system is traditional practices that lack modern technology in the study area (p= 0.001 < 0.05). The most prominent recommendations are : Establishing vocational training centers and apprenticeships in study area, establishing a higher council for vocational training and apprenticeships of a developmental nature. Spreading awareness in the field of technical education and emphasizing its importance to society, owning small industrial workshops to finance youth to develop human capital in the study area, providing financial support from government agencies, private sector and organizations, and re-establishing professional unions provided they are of professional nature a -political in the study area
