Résumé partiel
This research was carried out in the municipality of Our Lady of La Paz in the Murillo
province in the Hampaturi Community, with the objective of analyzing the Landsat
satellite images from 2003 to 2017, to identify changes in the vegetation cover in the
grazing areas.
In Bolivia there are communities that are dedicated to agriculture and livestock, within
the highland communities, around the Cordillera Real there are communities that in their
communal areas are grasslands and wetlands that are formed in areas such as the
Andean plateaus, located on 3,800 meters high, where the plains store water from
rainfall, melting glaciers and, above all, surface outcrops of groundwater.
One of the methodologies that was used was surveys of the inhabitants, making field
visits it was identified that the Hamparuti Community, in the lower part is dedicated to
agriculture with its main crops of potatoes and broad beans, in the upper part there are
grasslands and bofebales where they are dedicated to the cattle raising of camelid,
bovine and ovine cattle.
For the analysis of the agroclimatic aptitude of the area, the equation proposed by
Thornthwaite was used to calculate evapotranspiration, it is based on the comparison
between the requirements of the crops and the climatic conditions that are available.
The Geographic Information System and Remote Sensing are tools that helped in this
work, the methodology of multitemporal analysis was applied from the Landsat 7 ETM +,
Landsat 5 TM, and Landsat 8 images, respectively from the years 2003, 2006 and 2017,
the changes in land use and vegetation cover in the dry season were analyzed using the
supervised classification method. The changes in the dates of interest were detected,
based on the analysis of the vegetation indices, Vegetation Index of Normalized
Differences (NDVI) and Leaf Area Index (IAF), which are indicators of the state of the
vegetation cover and with The supervised classification that by means of the digital
levels allows us to differentiate the vegetation cover of the soil and the validation in the
field made it possible to give a precision in the final categorization of the study areas.
