Résumé
TThe increase of the global green gas concentration causes the warming in the atmosphere. Various climate scenarios based on the General Circulation Models(GCMs) indicates the effects of the increased green gas concentrations up on theclimatic variables such as temperature, precipitation and sea-level in global andregional scales. Adana Plain, located in semi arid climate belt, is composed ofhighly sensitive surface and ground water resources to the climate change.Adana Plain is very rich in terms of water resources, and extensive exploitation ofthe surface and ground waters. The negative impacts of the climate change on thequality and quantity of water resources are unavoidable. Within the frame of thisstudy, the impacts of the decrease in recharge, increase in the groundwaterextraction for agricultural and domestic water supply as a result of deficiency insurface water resources, and sea level change are simulated by a groundwaterflow (MODFLOW-McDonald and Harbaugh, 1998) and transport (SEAWAT -2000) model. In the Adana Plain the vulnerability of the groundwater storage andquality to climate changes has been investigated by two different scenarios andthe changes in storage and water quality as a result of decrease in recharge, increase in discharge and sea level rise are estimated. Continuous decrease ingroundwater storage will result increase in groundwater quality deteriorate by seawater intrusion
