Résumé
The throughflow from thin alluvium layers in the basin upstream is probably the main source of recharge to the alluvium aquifer rather than vertical infiltration at the basin outlet. Therefore, controlling dams or dykes are recommended in the upstream at the contact between the Eocene carbonates and the Quaternary alluvium, where 75% of the catchment can be controlled, which could lead to increasing the potential of recharge to the alluvium aquifer. The integration of multiple datasets from different remote sensing platforms and geophysical tools can provide a valuable quantitative estimate for the hydrological parameters for non-gauged catchments. Furthermore, a new perspective on the temporal examination of downward propagations of flow from flash floods within active channels has been presented. It is strongly recommended to improve the accuracy of hydrological modelling within dryland via replicating these integrated tools in other similar areas, and to calibrate the estimates with in situ measurements from local gauging stations, if available.
