OBJECTIVES : The objective of the project is for the Animal Genomics and Improvement Laboratory, through the USDA African Goat Improvement Network under the Feed the Future Initiative, to support the creation of Community Based Breeding Programs (CBBPs) in Burkina Faso.

APPROACH : The proposed project approach is to establish CBBPs for smallholder goats in two sites (6 communities in total) in Burkina Faso to genetically improve unselected indigenous goat breeds.
