The Kubuqi Desert and its surrounding areas are located in the core area of the Yellow River "a few word" bay,which is the key area of the Yellow River "several" word bay ecological civilization construction strategy.For a long time,the land desertification problem has been the most important restriction factor affecting the social and economic development of this region.However,with the kubuqi desert as the core of the surrounding area of land desertification long-term development change of background,the land cover type of temporal and spatial distribution and transformation characteristics,vegetation coverage and desertification degree is reverse fluctuation change law and trend,ecological restoration engineering construction,natural factors and reverse feedback of ecological recovery,also lack of objective systematic analysis,evaluation and discussion.Therefore,this study focuses on these problems,remote sensing image feature interpretation and ground field research,comprehensive application of remote sensing interpretation,land desertification feature index extraction,spatial and temporal change analysis,systematically analyzed the research area in nearly 20 years land desertification spatial and temporal distribution and change characteristics,trend and the relationship between the main influence factors,aims to provide valuable reference for research regional ecological civilization construction.The main research results and conclusions are as follows :(1)The sandy area of the Kubuqi Desert and its surrounding areas has been significantly reduced,and the covered area of forest land has increased significantly.Between 2000 and 2021,the woodland coverage in the translated area of this study increased from 1813.15km2 to 5342.4km2,up by 194.65%,while the sandy land and construction land areas were greatly reduced from 15248.78km2 to 5246.88km2 by65.59%,and the latter decreased from 2865.75km2 to 1763.37km2 by 38.47%.The area of cultivated land and grassland also increased significantly,as the former increased from6560.84km2 to 10155.36km2 by 54.79%,while the latter increased from 14918.33km2 to18874.34km2 by 26.52%.There was also a small increase in water area of 4.58% from534.65km2 to 559.15km2.(2)The overall degree of desertification in the Kubuqi Desert and its surrounding areas has a prominent trend,with light and moderate desertification is dominant,and the desertification area in the western and southern parts of the Kubuqi Desert has been greatly reduced.Between 2000 and 2021,the reverse degradation area of the land in the interpretation area of this study was far less than the positive improvement area,the total desertification area of 15187.04km 2 was reduced to 7226.90km 2,the linear reduction rate reached 1395.3km 2 / a,and the total desertification area was reduced by more than half.Among them,the extremely severe desertification area showed a rapid reduction trend,decreasing from 7730.24km 2 to 1870.09km 2,and a linear reduction rate reached 1146km 2 /a,which is the most prominent contributor to the reduction of the total desertification area.The area of severe,moderate and mild desertification showed a downward trend of fluctuation and length fluctuation on the basis of the preserved area.Significant ecological recovery within the study area.
