Descriptif
This Initiative aims to support the vibrant and largely informal urban and peri-urban agrifood sector to improve sustainability, equity, and opportunity growth while mitigating risks to human and environmental health. Building on its wealth of experience in the areas of food safety and the circular bio-economy, IWMI takes a lead in Work Package 3, wherein it analyses and supports municipal authorities with locally relevant strategies to maintain food safety and engage with food safety agencies worldwide to develop of LMIC-relevant food safety guidelines. In Work Package 5, IWMI provides knowledge and research support for multi-stakeholder policy dialogues.
