Descriptif
This proposed project will be implemented in Somali region, a pastoral area of Ethiopia which is characterized by high mean temperatures, erratic and unpredictable rainfall, and scanty vegetation. The project woreda, Dekasuftu is frequently affected by drought. The population in these areas practice limited sedentary arable farming, with nomadic and semi-nomadic pastoralists partially exploiting few natural resources for food and income generation through the sale and consumption of livestock and livestock products (i.e., meat, milk, and hides).
