Résumé
To generate policy and practice relevant knowledge of values of ES in Mongolia and pastoral contributions therein and to test efficacy of PES schemes, in order to enhance biodiversity and livelihoods.
1. Key ES at selected sites in contrasting ecological zones valued, with participation of local herding communities. 2. Pilot PES schemes developed and implemented at selected study sites, with participation of local herding communities. 3. Assessment of contributions of PES to livelihoods & conservation in different ecological contexts. 4. Education and capacity building of key stakeholders (government officials, local herders) in ES values, development, management and efficacy of PES schemes in Mongolian context.
