Descriptif
This is a one - year Education Project targeting two Primary educational institutions in Kilifi county. The project seeks to improve educational infrastructure, WASH facilities, advocacy on child protection rights as well as creating a culture of environmental conservation. The project intends to achieve in the following ways :- a. Improvement of school infrastructure through the construction of 10 new classrooms, renovation of 10 classrooms and provision of 300 eco-friendly desks. b. Improvement of WASH facilities through the installation of water gutters, water tanks and connection of the schools and community with piped water. c. Advocacy on gender/child rights protection through the engaging BOMs, PTAs, community, students and other stakeholders on awareness creation and sensitization. d. Environmental conservation culture through environmental clubs in schools and engaging in tree planting drives in the community. The above intervention will help improve school performance, retention and enrolment of out of school children, improve WASH infrastructure, enhance child/gender rights protection as well as environmental conservation.
