IR Niger is proposing a 6-Month project to support 100 women selected to engage in non-farm income generation activities. The targeted outcome is enhanced engagement in diversified resilient and profitable livelihood opportunities for 100 women in Ouallam district. This will take place twofold : -ÿWomen will be identified using household economy analysis among their communities to select those that are most vulnerable. -ÿWomen will be engaged in a collective CBO IGA and will receive œ76 to start her preferred individual IGA following a business plan, providing women with a second source of income, thereby diversifying their livelihood opportunities. The targeted IGA are non-agriculture to ensure income diversification for supported beneficiaries, complementing exisiting agricultural activities within which they are engaged under an ongoing intervention. -ÿBased on previous intervention, the profit estimated on average per women per month will range between œ10 to œ30 depending on the IGA. The profit expected for CBO collective IGA is around 20% of the invested capital (about œ855). Cumulative profit from the group IGAs will be used to create a pool fund that can provide source of funding for additional IGAs also.ÿÿÿ ÿ Key results and activities are the following : Enhanced engagement in diversified resilient and profitable livelihood opportunitiesÿÿ Activity 1.1.1.
