Descriptif
Taiz is still one of the most war affected governorates in Yemen. The continuous fighting and the tight siege have resulted in a huge humanitarian suffering, deaths, casualties and food insecurity, beside the collapse of the government services sector. UNOCHA in Yemen have announced that, only 14% of the food security sector for 2016 required fund has been met. While An estimated 14,119,280 people (7.1 million in Crisis and 7.0 million in Emergency) equivalent to 51% of Yemen population are food insecure. This intervention will support 6,300 people with food assistance for one month. The priority will be given to IDPs and the most needy of the host community. Careful targeting and close coordination with other INGOs operating in the area will maximize the benefit of this intervention, as its not targeting a great portion of the needy people. Taiz needs a multi sectorial response to address the huge humanitarian need.
