Descriptif
Islamic Relief proposes this project with the aim to contribute to the protection of the most vulnerable people living in substandard shelters in Gaza Strip. It will meet an immediate needs of the extremely vulnerable households living in substandard shelters (including women, children, elderly, PWDs), improving their access to safe, adequate, and healthy living environment through winterization solutions and basic shelter rehabilitation. Specifically, Islamic Relief will respond to the identified needs and priorities of households with the worst score of socioeconomic vulnerabilities who are in critical need for shelter support, including managing the upcoming harsh winter weather conditions. This action includes two key components : (1) : provision of urgent winterization assistance and NFIs kits for HHs. This will include in-kind assistance (winterization kits, NFI kits, hygiene kits) And (2) : provision of financial and technical support to HHs living in substandard housing units to rehabilitate /renovate /adapt housing units to meet shelter minimum standard. This include providing unconditional cash assistance for rehabilitation/ renovation/ adaptation work, in addition to providing technical support. This action will be fully in line with 2020 HRP strategic objectives 2 &3 and the COVID-19 Response Plan, and will contribute to the Shelter & NFI cluster objective 2, helping to cover unmet needs for the related response under the OCHA HNO 2020. The assistance will fully comply with the Shelter Cluster minimum agreed standards, and will incorporate the principles of protection for vulnerable groups particularly women, children, elderly and people with disabilities.
