Présentation
Presently, the waste of Khartoum after removal of organic material, plastic bottles etc is dumped in a prepared landfill outside Khartoum. This waste consists of uncollectible and non-recyclable pieces of plastic, wood, glass, metals etc. The aim of the project is to recover combustible waste (RDF) with a high caloric value by removing the glass, stones and metals.
This RDF can be used by the cement industry replacing the expensive daily diesel fuel consumption.
The applicant is the Egyptian Company for Solid Waste Recycling (ECARU) and the local partner is PECS that owns a Waste Sorting Plant in Khartoum State.
The partners will establish a new joint venture called PECS/ECARU Refuse Derived Fuel facility Ltd.
The project will use rejected waste streams to recover energy and minerals. With a RDF production of 45,000 tons, 50,000 tons of CO2 per year will be saved.
Partenaire (s) : Netherlands Enterprise Agency, Pecs Company Limited, Egyptian Company for Solid Waste Recycling (Ecaru)
