Présentation
Years of armed conflict, and the existence of multiple underlying determinants of malnutrition at household and community levels, in addition to the economic decline further exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic and impact of ongoing Ukraine war continue to increase the level of food insecurity which is a key underlying factor of acute and chronic malnutrition. In line with the CERF Underfunded Emergency strategy, UNICEF provide a coordinated multi-sectoral life-saving response to a total of 663,544 people including IDPs and host communities in the governorates of Al Hudaydah, Hajjah, Marib, and Taiz as part of the inter-agency interventions proposed under the CERF Underfunded Emergencies allocation to respond to critical needs of the most vulnerable children and their families and ensure access to basic nutrition, WASH and child protection services to safeguard their health and well being and reduce vulnerabilities which put them at risk of violence, abuse neglect and harm.
