Overall objective : To contribute to a decrease of vulnerability of the conflict affected communities of Abyan and Raymah The project aims to focus on two sectors of interventions ; Food Security and WASH related activities in Abyan and Raymah governorates of Yemen. The Food Security intervention will focus on providing agriculture inputs to farmers and livelihood inputs to animal breeders in the two governorates. Beneficiaries will be provided with agriculture inputs such as seed, irrigation pipes, and fertilizer so that the community members can cultivate to improve their food security. For the WASH intervention, the project is going to focus on water sources and hygiene promotion awareness. The focus is to rehabilitate rain a water harvest scheme and water sources in Raymah and Abyan by mobilizing vulnerable people from the targeted areas under the activity of Cash For Work (CFW). In addition to this IRY is aiming to adopt activities which will bring about behavioral change in hygiene good practices amongst the community members, coupling the installation of water facilities with the adoption of behavioral changes for an overall impact aimed to secure basic needs of the vulnerable communities.
