Descriptif
As a result of prolonged and intense conflict having a destructive effect in Yemen, food security and health were identified in the last HNO (November 2016), and in the first draft of the Yemen Humanitarian Response Plan 2017, as the sectors requiring the most humanitarian assistance. According to the latest IPC (June 2016) 9 governorates out of 21 were categorised as Phase 4 (Emergency), with Taiz and Sa’ada at the top of the list. The project aims to respond to these dire needs by contributing in the provision of emergency life-saving assistance in the target areas, which were chosen based on the IPC rankings. Project objective : The overall objective of the project is to save lives, alleviate suffering and maintain human dignity for the affected people in priority districts. Project outcomes : • Improve immediate household availability and access to food for 28,000 individuals from the most vulnerable people in Taiz and Sa’ada , through general food distribution. • Availability of integrated primary, secondary and referral health service and medical supplies in priority districts. Expected results Distribute 338 MT of food to 4000 HHs from the affected people in priority districts at Taiz and Sa’ada governorates, Yemen. Provide 3 Health facilities with the urgent required medicines with priority to chronic disease patients at Sa’ada and Taiz, Yemen.
