Aperçu du projet
Within the framework of JICA’s grant aid to Pakistan through the international organization, UNESCO successfully implemented the 1st project, "Strategic Strengthening of Flood Warning and Management Capacity of Pakistan". Despite substantial improvements in flood forecasting of the Upper Indus and Kabul rivers, there are still many remaining issues to improve the flood management capacity in Pakistan to a satisfactory level for the whole Indus Basin river system. The new project will involve cooperation with neighboring countries of Pakistan such as Afghanistan and will continue the capacity development of relevant Pakistan agencies (PMD, SUPARCO, NDMA, FFC and irrigation departments).
