This work describes an analysis made to the thermal environment on a construction site. Several parameters that characterize the thermal environment, like ambient, wet bulb and globe temperature, relative humidity and air speed, were measured in different stages of the development of the construction. Through the use of the different norms, namely the ISO 7243 – Hot environments – Estimation of the heat stress on working man, based on the WBGT – index (wet bulb globe temperature), ISO 7933 – Hot environments – analytical determination and interpretation of thermal stress using calculation of required sweat rate and ISO 7730 – Moderate thermal environments – Determination of the PMV and PPD indices and specification of the conditions for thermal comfort, it was tried to assess the thermal conditions that workers were subjected to. The obtained data didn’t allow the definition of a model for characterization of the thermal environment, and also showed that the use of the ISO 7730, in such type of environment, has some problems attached to it due to the small interval of application of some of its paramet ers. Regarding the thermal conditions in which the workers developed their jobs, the study revealed an high number of days in with the existing conditions promoted the occurrence of thermal stress, as even on days considered moderate, during the duration of the day, it was possible to verify the occurrence of specific situations in which the workers were not in thermal comfort. In order to characterize the influence of the thermal environment over the workers, a few previously developed productivity models were applied. These have shown that in days of high discomfort considerable productivity losses may occur, and that even in days of thermal comfort slight losses may occur
