Project Description

1) Evaluation of the potential of groundwater resources exploitable for drinking use in the Study area. 2) Collection of information necessary to formulate groundwater resources development program for the Study area.

Scope of Study

A Basic Survey
1) Collection, review and analysis of related data and information a. social and economic conditions b. natural conditions (topographical and hydrogeological data, meteorological, hydrological, geological data) c. existing water resources in the study area d. current condition of water use e. laws, regulations and politics on water resource development and water supply services f. on-going plan of water supply project
2) Field reconnaissance a. situation of water use b. examination of existing wells and other water supply facilities c. topographical and hydro-geological situation d. site visit to the test drilling sites
B . Analysis of groundwater potential
a. geophysical survey b. selection of priority sites for test drilling c. test drilling and borehole logging d. pumping tests e. monitoring of water level in the observation well f. water quality test
C. Evaluation of groundwater potential
a. drawing up the hydrogeological map b. pre-scoping for environment and social assessment c. estimation of potable water demand in the future d. recommendation of water supply planning
