In this paper four species of seabuckthorn were used including China Seabuckthorn ( Hippophae rhamnoides subsp. Sinensis), Rassia Seabuckthorn( Hippophae rhamnoides) and two hybrids of them, systematic comparison was studied on their biologic character, growing and bearing habits, surface structure, and anatomical structure,and also studied the changes in different condition. By using the open exchange system LI~6400 Portable Photosynthesis System, Photosynthetic rate and transpiration rate and seasonal variation were measured, their ecologic suitability was analyzed, the purpose was providing the theoretical basis for the cultivation, breeding ,anti-hardness and developing enterprise of seabuckthorn. The results were listed as below.1.The seabuckthorn was studied on their root, root nodules, stem, leaves, flower, fruit, shoot growth, fruit growing and bearing habits, yield and so on, the results showed that growth length and vigor of China seabuckthorn was bigger and stronger than hybrid and Russia seabuckthorn. Fruit weight, volumes and yield of Russia seabuckthorn was the biggest, hybrid was middle, and China seabuckthorn was less. The trends of volume change of seabuckthorn fruit was“S”type.2.The tissue anatomy structure of seabuckthorn from 4 species and different soil condition were observed , it showed that the tissue anatomy structure of China seabuckthorn had obvious deference with Russia seabuckthorn ;the vascular diameter of Russia seabuckthorn was bigger, China seabuckthorn had higher vesicle density, hybrids were between them. for the nodule, China seabuckthorn vascular diameter was bigger, vascular cell size was smaller,vesicle size was bagger and has higher vesicle density. The tissue anatomy structure was closely related with the original area ;in the same species , the tissue anatomy structure a1so had obvious deference in different ecological condition, when the water content and fertilizer was less, Vascular cell size of China seabuckthorn root nodules was smaller,Vesicle size was bagger and has higher vesicle density. That illustrated that China seabuckthorn anatomy structure had closely related with the ecological adaptability. With the long natural selection, formed its ecological adaptability characteristics.3.The tissue structure on sea buckthorn 1eaves from 4 varieties and different soil condition were observed,The leaves have relatively thicker palisade tissue, so sea buckthorn had anatomical structure that was the characteristics to adapt to drought stress. it showed that the tissue structure was closely related with the ecological adaptability ; The tissue structure tense ratio(CTR)of different varieties appeared obviously different. The bigger the CTR was,the higher the drought resistance was,in general, the CTR of China seabuckthorn was better than Russia seabuckthorn ;in the same varieties, the CTR a1so had obvious deference in different ecological condition,in drought condition,the CTR of leaf was increased.4.Using scanning electronic microscope, the leaves of sea buckthorn were observed. there are highly dense epidermal hairs, which could affect microclimate to reduce water loss. The thick periostracum was also an effective way to reduce cell dehydration. China seabuckthorn had smaller leaves, more layers of epidermal hair and denser stomas than Russia seabuckthorn. It had drought resistant character.5.The flower bud differentiation stage of seabuckthorn and sexual cells Development stages were observed by using microscopy,it showed that the flower bud differentiation of seabuckthorn divided into the following stages : primordial differentiation stage,inflorescence differentiation stage, sepal differentiation stage, stamen differentiation stage,pistil differentiation stage. Pollen sexual cells development include Pollen mother cell development, binary, tetrad, single nucleus pollen gram, double nucleus pollen gram.
