Résumé
As the largest carbon pool of terrestrial ecosystem, the allocation dynamics of biomass and carbon stock of forest ecosystem are important components of global carbon cycle. In recent years, plantations play more and more important roles in terrestrial ecosystem in china, with plantations area continually increasing. But there is few study on the carbon cycle of plantations, which limits the exact estimation on the carbon sink of plantations in arid area.This paper deeply studied and compared the biomass, carbon content rates and carbon stock of standing vegetation (tree, brush and herb) and litters of poplar plantation in Karamay and hungriness shrubbery by the method of measuring tree.The main results as follows :(1) The ecosystem biomass of poplar plantation in Karamay maded up of trees, herbs and litters, the total biomass of poplar plantation in Karamay was 51.209t/hm2, Most of living biomass of poplar plantation in Karamay was concentrated on tree layer (88.43%), litters and herbs made up 8.15% and 3.42%.(2) The mean biomass and productivity of tree vegetation was 45.285t/hm2 and 4.529t/hm2, the organ biomass of tree vegetation decreased in this order : tree trunk (60.79%)>root (14.27%)>branch (9.84%)>tree bark (8.96%)>tree leaves (6.14%). There were correlations among main organ biomass of tree vegetation and standing forest factors. The biomass of tree vegetation intensively distributed two DBH classes (6cm 12cm), the root biomass was in soil layer (0 40cm), which accounted for 86.04% of total root biomass, and the root biomass generally decreased with soil depth. At the different planting patterns, poplar biomass is different. Among, the poplar biomass was biggest in the planting pattern of the single-channel and double-planting (4.5 * 0.75 * 0.5), while it was least in the planting pattern of the three -channel and double-planting at 16- meter intervals. At the same planting pattern, the biomass of Populus boneana Lauche was bigger than the one of Populus Russkii Jab1., so we should adopt planting pattern (4.5 * 0.75 * 0.5) and Populus boneana Lauche to improve the biomass and productivity of poplar plantation, when we will plant in the future.(3) The herbs biomass ranged form 0.593t/hm2 to 3.177t/hm2, its mean biomass was 1.753t/hm2. The litter biomass ranged form 2.760t/hm2 to 6.655t/hm2, its mean biomass was 4.171t/hm2. The regression correlations between litters biomass, herbs biomass and tree vegetation biomass were all significant level (P<0.05).(4)The carbon concentration varied small between different vegetation layers, the carbon concentration decreased in this order : tree layer (48.23%)>litters (45.05%)> herbs (44.66%)>shrubbery (43.07%).(5) The total carbon storage of poplar plantation in Karamay was estimated to be 73709.706t, and its mean carbon density was 24.507t/hm2. The carbon storage of tree vegetation was 65869.078t, whose contribution was largest to poplar plantation in Karamay. The carbon storage decreased in this order : tree layer (89.36%) >litters (7.44%)>herbs (3.20%). The change discipline of vegetation carbon storage and vegetation biomass was consistent. The spatial distribution characteristic of biomass and carbon density of poplar plantation in Karamay was generally consistent.(6) The biomass and carbon density of hungriness shrubbery were 0.736t/hm2 and 0.327t/hm2, the biomass and carbon density of poplar plantation in Karamay were seventy and seventy-five times more than hungriness shrubbery′s. The ability of fixing carbon was more than hungriness shrubbery.These conclusions show that : poplar plantation in Karamay will be a potential carbon pool, its carbon density and carbon storage has reached a certain scale, its capacity of carbon sequestration is far greater than the desert shrubbery, it takes significant effect to the area’s reducing discharge of carbon dioxide. However, the biomass and carbon stock of poplar plantation in this study is low comparing to other scholars’study, which is limited by the natural factors such as climate, geography, soil, water in the arid area. If we only think over the ability of carbon sequestration of poplar plantation, we should seek an appropriate cropping pattern and management methods of plantation and adopt effective water-saving irrigation systems to improve the efficiency of forest carbon sequestration and carbon storage. Forest types, structure and landscape function are diversified gradually to get rid of the situation such as the single-species, incomplete structure and function, the frequent occurrence of plant diseases and insect pests, high water consumption, etc.This research can not only provide basal data and methods for evaluating the role of arid area plantation in the region carbon cycle, calculating carbon emission reduction of plantation in the arid areas and participating in international carbon trade, but also provide the frame of reference for management of the sustainable development of plantation ecosystem
