Résumé
Playas are arid landforms consisting of fine-grained horizontal sediments in undrained depressions. The geomorphic relations between the playa and its drainage basin in terms of morphology, sedimentology, and lithology are examined. The morphologic data were gathered from measurements of topographic maps and from field surveying, the sediment data from the clastic size analysis of 265 samples collected from the surface and subsurface of the playas and alluvial fans in the basins, and the lithologic data were measured from geologic maps. Of the basin parameters only basin area and playa area are strongly related. Elevation, relative relief and playa area are considerably less related. The basin lithologic composition is unrelated to morphology.
