Résumé
In this work, we are concerned with the botanical, chemical and pharmacological study of a moroccan medicinal plant : Cistus salviaefolius L. I the first part, we have examined the characters of the Cistaceae familly and those of Cistus genus. Next, the Cistus salvifolius species was then studied morphologicaly, anatomicaly and ecologicaly. The second part was devoted to the chemical study of the plant. It begins with a detailed bibliographical study which describs the previous investigations on the chemical composition of the Cistus salvifolius and other species of Cistus genus. After a description of the plant organic and inorganic constituants, we were interested in the flavonic compounds in the leaves and non-polar products in the leaves and seeds. Using the modern technics of analysis, we have ably isolated and identified some flavonic compounds, terpens and sterols. In the other hand, the fatty acids composition of the leaves, seeds and their barks was evidenced. The third part was aimed at a pharmacological study of Cistus salvifolius species, which includes bacterial, mycological tests (against reference strains) and toxicological ones (upon WISTAR rat for the chronic toxicity tests, and against two reference tumoral strains : HELA and VERO for the cytotoxicity ones). We find out that the plant possess antifungal (fungistatic and fungicid) and important antimicrobial activity, while the data show no cytotoxic activity. Furthermore, the results obtained from the toxicity tests show that the internal therapeutic use was to be avoided.
