Contexte
In the rural areas of Uzbekistan the poverty rate is very high. The main activities of the local population of Kamar village located around 40kms from the regional centre are agriculture and cattle breeding. There is no reliable electric supply (2-4 hours per day) and the energy supply shortages have a very negative impact on the level of life, cost of living and income of the local population. Overall, the lack of reliable energy supply and consumer services keeps the living standards very low, fuels social tensions and leads to migration flows.

Objectifs
1. Supporting job creation by the provision of renewable sources of energy
2. Improve the living standards and increase employment of rural population by promoting the use of renewable sources of energy.
3. Support and promote sustainable local economic development and contribute to the reduction of poverty and migration flows.
4. Help to protect the environment and support sustainable development.

Impact
1. 10 small enterprises can operate and 22 families enjoy more hours of electricity thanks to the purchase of Renewable Energy Systems.
2. The inter-community relationship and living conditions were improved by establishing the rural cooperative enterprise.
3. Sustainable growth was stimulated by awareness-raising campaign promoting renewable energy and use of clean energy .
