Objectif  : To provide a sustainable management system for prevention, restoration and protection of the environment that assures support to livelihood stability in environmentally-degraded areas such as the IDP camps and IDP gathering areas in Greater Darfur

Activités
•Distributed 599 950 fruit and tree seedlings, with 172 100 tree seedlings used to establish private and communal forests within eight IDP communities in the areas of El Fashir, Geneina, Zalingie and Nyala. • Rehabilitated 12 nurseries in three states of Darfur. • Facilitated four training workshops in three Darfur states on topics including nursery techniques, seedlings management, seedlings production, coping with climate change and environmental protection.

Impacts
• Increased awareness on the importance of tree-planting and the role of trees in environmental protection and restoration. • Additional income generation and nutrition from the planted fruit trees. • Increased supply of wood for fuel, fodder and construction through the rehabilitation of community forests. • Improved capacity of the Forestry National Corporation through the rehabilitation of their infrastructure and the increased knowledge-base of their employees.
