Objectif  : To enhance farmers’ ability to increase agricultural productivity and food production through the diversification of agricultural livelihoods.

Activités

1. Basic input packages were provided to 1 000 households, consisting of certified wheat seed, fertilizers, agricultural tools, wheelbarrows, post-harvest metallic silos with wooden pallets, kitchen garden vegetable seeds and food-processing sun-dry tables.
2. A total of 2 050 households (including the above 1 000 families) chose from a variety of livelihood diversification packages, to enable production related to fruit-tree nurseries, greenhouse vegetables, livestock, fishponds and beekeeping.
3. Training was provided to beneficiaries on the use of all project inputs, and capacitybuilding activities were conducted for stakeholders and implementing partner staff.
4. A joint MAIL/FAO mission was fielded to Uruzgan to assess pests and disease affecting almond production in Uruzgan ; almond kits were distributed to 990 almond-growers
