Présentation
The purpose of the project is to provide a practical demonstration of the utility of recycling olive oil mill vegetable water and pomace on agricultural land growing tree crops or annual crops. This will prevent vegetable water from being disposed of into sewage or surface water where it is a hazard to the environment. The project promotes the utilisation by farmers of vegetable water and pomace as fertilisers thus improving soil fertility and enhancing the farmers’ income. It is carried out in four southern/eastern Mediterranean olive-growing countries where olive production is important and where the soil has a relatively poor nutritive content.
